How to Make Mushroom Soup
By Maya Seth :)
Ingredients
90g butter (vegan 'cause every little helps even through you shop at Iceland)
2 medium onions, roughly chopped (get ready for the tears)
1 garlic clove, crushed (or 2 'cause yum)
500g mushrooms, finely chopped (as it is a 'mushroom' soup)
2 tbsp plain flour
1l vegetable stock
1 bay leaf (or not if your on a budget like me)
4 tbsp single cream (or milk if yours is about to go off and you need to use it quickly)
While shopping avoid the snack aisle as you are making soup to be healthy
Step 1: Look up the recipe from BBC food for desired soup
Step 2: Open fridge to find you have none of the ingredients to make mushroom soup
Step 3: Grab a big bag, keys, phone and wallet. Look at your coat and the grey sky and decide not to bring it and walk to Iceland.

In England always bring your raincoat...
Step 5: Clean the filthy surface in your shared kitchen then set out everything you'll need in an aesthetically pleasing way and balance an electric light on the sink for that perfect lighting.
Warning, all of this will confuse your non-design student flatmates but most of your work will.
Step 4: Buy the ingredients
Step 6:
Chop
Step 7:
Melt
Step 8:
Fry or
Sauté if
you are
fancy
Step 9: Realise that making soup takes more than an hour, especially if you have to go out and buy the ingredients. Then let your phone battery die and loose the charger so you can't document the rest of the process but promise who ever is reading this that the soup was finished and it takes 3 hours with cooling time!! But it was worth it as it is very yummy, especially with cheese
If you don't cry chopping onions you are super human
Step 10: Eat soup!
